while travelling in bali, i was constantly surrounded by animal life. animals are treated mostly with indifference by the balinese, especially dogs and cats, and i wanted to capture as much of the real daily experience as i could.

i wanted to capture the wide range of social and structural variation along the roadside while travelling through bali. no matter where i was, there seemed to be no end to the variety of people and buildings stacked next to or on top of each other.
